Texas

Well, we're moving to Texas. Steve got accepted and offered a nice scholarship to a Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, so we are off to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I'm nervous and excited and sad and happy all at the same time. I'm nervous about living in a new place. I'm excited to meet new people and experience new things. I'm sad that we won't live close to our family and friends here in Arizona. I'm happy that Steve is excited to go back to school. Things are going to be crazy for the next few months while we try to figure things out, but we both feel that it's going to be a great three years!

We have a trip to Texas planned to look for an apartment, and we're looking forward to having some time with just the two of us (Angee, Robby, and Jen are going to watch the boys for us). We found some good deals on flights and hotel, but I'm still nervous about actually finding a good place to live in only three days. I've also never left my babies for more than a few hours, so I hope I'm not a total mess. At least I know they'll be in good hands while I'm gone. It just didn't make sense to try to bring them along. We wouldn't be able to get things done nearly at quickly. I've been slowly weaning them the past week and a half, and it's going really well.

Also Steve has to be at orientation on August 13th, so that means we have about two months to pack, move, and unpack before school starts. I'm not stressed out yet, but I know I will be.

When I read this I felt like I was reading a post I would have done myself 3 months ago! Moving is tough and being away from family makes it even harder! I can understand the anxiety that comes with a move. Smart move leaving the babies at home, we did the same and we only had 3 days to look for a place to live. The plus side of this will honestly be that your little family will only grow closer. It's hard living close to parents and this time away whether its for school or work is a great opportunity for you guys to grow closer as a family. We have been in Minnesota for almost a month and we love it honestly. Just look for a good strong ward/stake because you will need that. We based where we were going to live off of people we talked to and there take on the areas. Good luck, Im excited to see where this adventure takes you! And Congrats to your hubby!!

This is a great opportunity for you guys...and everyone I have ever known that has lived in Texas have absolutely loved it! (I'm humming the Dallas theme song now....oh,you're too young for that show, but it was BIG back when...) I use to sing this song by elton john "we're tough and we're Texans!" cause I was raised in Texas. Its a big wonderful state, and there is now a temple in Dallas area, the church is strong there....you guys will be great! We'll all miss though! (say it with an accent)

What a great adventure. My sister in law lived there for 3 years while my bro in law went to Optometry school and they loved it! The weather was good, they loved the neighborhoods and were great missionaries along the way. You'll have a great time.

How exciting! It is hard to leave the kids, but it is very nice as well. Good luck finding a place! Chris and Sarah Wise live in the Dallas area, so maybe you could talk to them and see what they recommend. Let me know if you don't have her email and want it!

I am so glad that you guys found our blog, so that I could find yours! Isn't it sad that kids grow up so fast, especially when you're not looking. Your boys are so cute! I hope you guys like Texas. Good luck!
